Using the NI-DAQ Assist with an IOTech 500 series DAQ Board

I am trying to use the NI-DAQ Assist in LabView version 8.0.  However, when I select /Analog Input/Voltage/, the "Physical" box states "No supported devices found".  I installed an IOTech 500 series DAQ Board and everything else seems to be working correctly.  I would like to analyze a voltage from a loadcell and detect when the force on the loadcell drops below a specified value.  Does anyone have a program for this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure why people expect non-NI boards to work with NI-DAQ Assitant or MAX but this question comes up all of the time. You can probably look through the shipping examples for DAQmx and traditional DAQ but when you write your program, you will have to use the functions provided by IOTech. There have been postings on using IOTech boards so you might want to do a search here and in the DAQ forum for that.

We are attempting to add a non-National Intruments DAQ board (IOTech 500)  to the Devices and Interfaces - Measurement & Automation Explorer.  Is this the correct program to use, and if not how do we go about doing it?  If it is the correct program, what are the steps involved in adding the IOTech 500 board.  We are new to LabView and the DAQ in general, and would really appreciate some help.

Again, NO. You cannot add an non-NI board to NI's Measurement & Automation Explorer. You got software from I/O Tech when you bought the board? I don't know if they include LabVIEW drivers to use instead of the DAQ functions on the LabVIEW palette. If they did, that is what you have to use. If the LabVIEW drivers are an extra cost option, then contact I/O Tech to see how much they cost and buy them. You don't need to have your board listed in MAX in order to use it in LabVIEW. You just need the DAQ functions that interface to the I/O Tech driver DLL.

You are not understanding Dennis' answer. You can't add non-NI cards to MAX.

You need to use IOTech's software. If you had wanted to use MAX, then you should have bought a NI card.
