VI timing problem

I try to read state information (learn string) and then read calibration information from HP 8753ES network analyzer. I have a VI for reading state followed by a VI for reading calibration. When working seperately, each of them is working fine, reading information correctly. But the VI for reading state doesn't read any data when it is immediately followed by the VI for reading calibration. Can you tell me why reading state doesn't work when it's followed by reading calibration?

Try wiring your error out indicator and see if you are getting an error.

Set a breakpoint on your first VI and see if there's a delay required after you reset the instrument. It may not precess the command until the reset is complete. There should also be a command for querying the instrument's error buffer. Run this after your first VI and see if there's an internal error generated.
