VISA 2.6 and COM

Hello all,

just read the latest instrumentation newsletter from NI,
where they said, that the new VISA 2.6 is conform with
the Microsoft COM-Interface.

Now this is exactly what I'm looking for, since support for
plain COM-interfaces would save us a lot development efforts.
Unfortunatelly I can't find anything more detailed on this.
Does it mean, that you can access other application's
COM-Objects via their typelibrary without the need of an
automation interface ? Or do I misunderstand something here ?

Is anybody out there already using VISA 2.6 and can answer this ?
If yes, please send also private mail, since I'm not always on
track with the newsgroups..... 😉

I have searched all of ni.com and all of our internal resources. I have found no information on this issue. You may want to post the quote you are referring to so that those who do not get the newsletter know exactly what you are talking about. I am sorry that I could not find more information.
