The error means you don't have VISA installed. I'm not sure why you didn't get this error from the very beginning.

Hi,

   I saw that the problem is with the Serial port initialisation.So you can try with following..

1) Again crosscheck the same weather MAX can open the VISA session for the specified com port.(under devices and interfaces>>ports)

2) Check that you are passing valid serial parameters values.

3) Reinstall serial port driver from My computer>>properties >> hardware >>device manager>> ports.
