You should probably just pull the initialize out of the loop completely and just call it once and pass it whatever settings you want. The error indicates that the com settings of the pc might not match the settings of the instrument so I would recomend that you clean this up. You can't change the com settings on the fly anyway. You would have to stop the VI and modify the instrument.

Ok dennis.. Let me try doing that...I would pull that out of the loop,elimianate the Case and make a very simple VI such that only Temperature read VI is in the loop. Is it fair enough?

Hi Dennis 

Please have a look at the attached VI. Should this work?. I tried running the VI but it keps on showing the same error. I have added only one channel to the Scan list for the time being. Moreover i have ensured that the COM1 settings as well as Serial port configuration settings are same. It could be a very small mistake that i am making. Please advice. Thanks.
