Well, the user would only have to change the resource name if it's different than where you did your development. If it's the same, the best thing is to make the resource name a block diagram constant so the user can't change it and don't make the block diagram available to the user. If the instruments the users have will have different addresses, then you can instruct them in how to select the correct resource name, use VISA aliases and assign the correct aliases in MAX, or find all instruments connected, do an IDN? on each, and based on the results, assign the correct resource name in your program.
