thanks guys for the continued input. I now know that this resistor actually controlled a pulse frequency that controlled the speed of the motor. I was able to just use the pulse output on the scb-68 to make it work.
I have learned alot over the past 2 years and I want to give the NI forums an A+ for being one of the best help forums i have found for just about any product.
