Yes Mark that is true.  But I'm under constraints where the powers to be wanted each channel register in one page and the miscellaneous (status reg.) on a separate page.  I have looked at and read some of the NI presentations and read Peter Blume's style book but the company doesn't want it done correctly just quickly.  Because if I did it correctly the whole program would have to be rewritten since I have inherited it from a top down programmer who used 9 stack sequences inside a while loop instead of a event structure and create a state machine.

But such is life and we glue together what we are handed!

If this is a mission critical application can you make the argument that taking time to rewrite it now will save time and money in the future? Not to mention that it will also make the application more stable, easier to use, easier to maintain and easier to added new features.
