Hello everyone,
In reference to the guideline here
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AE36614C94578A138625720A00827C7E
I want to use Method 3 to display my Visa resource name which in this case is a USB RAW device. However, the device simply does not appear in the drop down list.
I tried Method 1 and 2 and both of them somehow work. Is there something I'm missing with Method 3?
I'm also attaching the filter settings I'm using for the VISA resource name block.
Thanks guys.

I'm guessing he/she doesn't want to limit his/her options? 😉

I also tried checking that but it didn't work. Anyway, I do not want to be limiting my classes, do I? Since it doesn't show up already

Why dont you use VISA find resources ?

Because Find Resources returns strings and I want the output as a VISA resource name

you can convert into VISA name

Assign directly that string to VISA configure block. I verified for COM port and it works. it should work for USB RAW also

yea i thought about that but i just couldn't help but wonder why it refused to show up in Visa Resource Name Control although Find Resources could easily detect it.
many thanks though 🙂
