In Vision Assistant 2010 SP1, the Create LabVIEW VI function is not working. It will open up LabVIEW, but that is all. No errors or anything. I am running LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on a Windows 7 machine.
I can use the Vision Assistant Express VI to create a Script. I can then convert the express VI to a standard subVI by opening the front panel. This will get me the block diagram and code that I am looking for, but it is kind of a pain.
After some searching in this forum, I did verify that the ActiveX box is checked in the VI Server options. Any other ideas on how to fix this lack of function?

Hi,
I did some checking and I cannot find any known issues with the versions of the software you are using. Is the Vision Assistant Configuration you are trying to convert into a VI able to run? Have you tried converting it with LabVIEW already open? When you use the Vision Assistant VI in LabVIEW, can you actually run the VI?

Yes, the vision assistant configuration is able to run. Tested both in vision assistant and using the vision assistant express vi. To create the vision assistant express vi, I use the same saved .vascr file. I have also tried creating a very simple vi with only one step and it is unable to do that.
I have tried converting it both with LabVIEW open (with other VIs open and closed) and with LabVIEW closed. Same unsuccessful results. With LabVIEW open, when I try to create a vi from vision assistant, it brings the LabVIEW window to the front so I know that it is trying.

Hi,
What version of LabVIEW, Vision Development Module, and Vision Assistant do you have?

LabVIEW 10.0.1 (32bit) SP1
Vision Assistant 2010 SP1 build 20101220111102
Developer Suite with Image Acquisition and Machine Vision (Named-User) (Software Version 2011 DS2) - Network License
Local License of Vision Development Module 2010 SP1 that has expired license file for development. Is this the possible issue? Should the developer suite license allow me to use vision assistant?

Hi,
Yes this is most likely the issue because in order to use the Vision VIs you need a valid license for the Vision Development Module (VDM). The Vision Builder is not able to find a license for the VDM so it can't build the VI. You will need a valid license to use the VDM.
