Way to know if Vision is installed and Check license for Vision

    I have a question about the way to check license for Vision programatically.

Currently, I am working on an application which uses Vision CVI.

I would like to make the application automatically check the Vision and its license so that users do not need to check them manually.

I would not like to use MAX and NI License Manger to check if Vision is installed in a computer or is licensed.

Hello TantoK,

As far as I know, the only way to programatically figure out which version of a particular NI software is installed is to check the registry. Registry entries can be found under the following:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\

As for licenses, I am not sure. I will check and let you know if I find something.
