When using the web publishing tool in LabView 2014, the drop down to select a VI is blank and I must browse to the VI even though it's only one of two in the same project I'm accessing the tool from. Also, when the tool completes, instead of saving the html file in the project folder and adding it to the cDAQ, it saves the file in some obscure place on the hard drive.
I don't remember this happening in LabView 2013 and I checked that it does not happen in LabView 2015. This could potentially be a partial cause (maybe not the root) of my issue with not being able to access remote panels.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hey jeepers52004,
Looks like browsing for the VIs might be intended per this article on ni.com:

As far as the html file getting saved in an unusual location, where is it being saved?

Hello.
I think the article you're referencing is discussing the web server setup in LabView and not detailing the use of the web publishing tool which is where I'm seeing the quirks, if that's what they are.
Attached is a screenshot of the location the file is saved to when the web publishing tool completes. This is not the same result when running the web publishing tool through LabView 2015 which does save the resulting HTML file in the project folder and also adds the HTML file to the project. I don't have LabView 2013 installed any longer to compare 2014 to but I don't remember having to navigate to the LabView installation files web server folder to then add that HTML file to the project folder as is the case with my current installation of LabView 2014.
Thanks!
Michael

Clarifying here:
So when creating the HTML document (also seen in Step 7 of this following: Creating HTML Documents and Embedding Front Panel Images ) it's saving to a path other than that which you expected?
Are you editing the path at all? Does the file path shown when verifying differ than the one you get when you save the HTML file?

Thanks for following up. I was not editing the path as noted in Step 7 with this round of troubleshooting/re-installs and it looks like that was my issue. Previously, I had changed the path to the current project and saved me the step of moving the file and then adding it to the project. Chock this one up to operator error and again, thank you for helping me get to the bottom of things.
