What DAQ drivers do i need?

I am using Labview 8.0 and while going through the tutorials, i am asked to insert the DAQ assistant function onto the Block diagram. The problem is that i do not have it as an option. Is that something that i need to load from the CD or is there something i need to download from ni.com?

It depends on if you have any hardware that you will be using or not.  If you just want to "play" with the DAQ assitant without any hardware, you can get the NI DAQmx 8.0 software.

Here is the link for the software: http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/4C9E45F6EE5C29F98625708900712CBC?opendocument&node=132060_US

Once the softawre is installed, you should find the DAQ assistant under the Functions Pallete > Measurement I/O > Ni DAQmx.
