What can I use instead of a notifier between vi's in 8.2?

I have an application that uses Notifiers to communicate between vi's that are called by reference (in sub panels).

This looks like it will not work if I move to 8.2. Is this correct?

If so, any suggestions on what to do instead, for example to let the called vi know its time to close?

I don't see any obvious reason why it should not work.

Just try to run it using LV8.2 and you'll see if it works or you'll find out why it doesn't.

Thanks. It looks like it works, but I get an internal LV error, but I'll just submit it and see what NI says.
