I am a university student and lately we have started using LabVIEW but as we use so many applications like SISTEMA, TIA Portal... sometimes it's hard to distinguish what each of them does specifically. so I would like to know what it's mostly used for and what are the differences with the other applications I mentioned.

What is the world coming to when forum security software is triggered by "lmcgpttfy" (a modern twist on "let me google that for you"), prompting the reference to be removed...

I use it in an attempt to reduce the rate at which my old brain deteriorates.

I don't really know what the "modern twist" is that you mention, but there is a big difference between "lmgtfy" and your spelling (with .com at the end!), which apparently redirects to a typosquatter site waiting to scam unsuspecting users with fat fingers. Have you even tried it?

On a more constructive note (I don't do reddit).

LabVIEW is probably much more a general purpose programming language than the other two.
LabVIEW is (at least by me) mostly, but not exclusively, used to create applications in test and measurement, research and development, process control and production, and the entire range of industries (oil and gas, food and drugs, aerospace, transport, manufacturing, agriculture, education, etc.), .
LabVIEW is definitely used by universities and spin off companies...
