What will happen if I don't renew my LabVIEW license

Hi

I need to buy LabVIEW from NI and I see that the price is per year. What will happen if I don't renew ? My license will be invalid and I can't use LabVIEW or I will lose support ?

TL;DR from the link above:

after your licence lapses, you won't be able to view or edit your VIs anymore.

That is about to change. The viewing will be still possible in the future. Editing not.

I guess that's just a little more useful than a picture in the forums.  😉

It's the equivalent of the complaint that normal text based code can be still viewed in any text editor. 😀

Of course everybody would like to have a free full featured version of everything. That's why the 3rd party solutions library offers are usually split into two categories

- free libraries that are not maintained and may or may not work

- paid libraries that are not maintained anymore and may or may not work anymore, since the original developer moved on to something else to earn money to pay for food and shelter for himself and family.

As far as we are concerned, LabVIEW ceased to be a suitable product in 2022.  We have LV 2021, and we won't go past that.
