When I try to open vi, I get a message that 'Statistics.vi is not a VI".

I have been using this vi for quite some time. Is there anyway to recover a vi? I tried copying it, and opening the copy. Would hate to lose this work. Labview 6.0. I don't know what I changed to cause this problem, I can't think of anything.

It looks like a "corrupted VI" ... something similar to A Corrupted VI in the Project Directory Crashes LabVIEW on Launch
Unfortunately, the solution seems to be just a good backup in case it's one of your own VIs.

Maybe NI guys can help you to recover it.

Good Luck

I've just took a look at your VI (character mode, using wordpad) and the first lines are something like this:

"Round X Y Status

1 -5.660726 15.545977 original
2 -5.660726 15.545977 original
3 -4.157382 13.668509 original
4 -4.601265 16.795809 original
5 -5.703560 16.999730 original"

If this data looks familiar to you, probably somebody mistakenly used the "Statistics.vi" name when logging information.

Anyway, it's good that you have a backup ... I've just wanted to let you know about a possible damage reason.

Hope this helps

How embarassing. You are correct that I must have used this vi for data logging. Thank goodness for backups.

Thanks.
