When trying to install v8.6.1 (upgrading from v8.5) on a Windows 7 machine, I get error -12

I'm trying to upgrade our LV 8.5 machine to 8.6.1 on a PC running Windows 7 Pro.  8.5 runs fine, but I can't even get through the installation without getting the following error:

Error: Windows SDK function returned an error (Error code -12).

Is there any way to get this installation to work?  I have VIs I created in 8.6 that I need to run on another machine.  I tried saving as version 8.5 but they won't run, saying the version is wrong.

And yes, I've been seaching for a solution for 2 days.  Others have had the problem but I can't find a working answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.\

Please disregard.  After using a couple different search engines, i was finally able to find the solution.

Don't you think posting the solution you found would be more useful for others that use the same search engine method you use and get to this location instead of the others?

Once I know for sure that it works I'll post the solution.  Haven't had time to work on it yet.
