Where is RTE

I have used the LV 2011 to build an ap and selected to include the LV 2011 Run Time Engine in the installer.  However, when I install the application, the RTE has not been installed.  Why?  What did I miss?

How do you know the RTE wasn't installed? The RTE is included by default with all builds.

When you install the RTE as part of an installer with your application, the RTE is installed as part of your application installer so it doesn't have it's own entry in 'add or remove programs'.

If you have MAX installed, you should still see it. You'll also know when you try to run your application if it isn't installed as it won't run.

I believe the NI installer is clever enough that it install with the first application, detect it for future programs and then only uninstall it once the last application that uses it is uninstalled.

Yes, this is true.  BUT the point is the application did not run.  When I look for the RTE, it has NOT been installed.  Any ideas as to why?  This is a brand new, out of the box computer.  And it is the first ap to be loaded.

Maybe you are missing some required prerequisites for the RTE and the installation failed? Did you get any error messages during the installation? Did you restart after the app was installed? You could try to uninstall your App / NI Components and try to install the RTE manually by downloading it from the NI Website to help diagnose the problem.

Yes, I did all of the computer restarts.  I even uninstalled all and tried again.  The only unusual thing is that these computers are "specially" configured for use inside a highly secure facility.  Maybe the Program Files (x86) directory is write protected.  No error messages during the installation.

And yes, I am taking the RTE as a separate install into the facility today.

Does not make any sense.
