Actually I was trying to find a faster method for you to lauch these executables by using the -target option. This apparently does not bypass the error checking that is implemented. You can get this mechanical action to work in RT if you build the executable while targetted to the RT system. This method can be used to create a startup executable that will start when the rt target is launched. You can then use a remote panel connection to view the front panel and interact with the VI.
As for event structures they are not support in RT regardless of being in an executable.
