Hi all,
I would like to acquire some signals with high sampling rate (1 MHz and above) and save the data.
Which hardware should I select (PXI or Compact Rio)?
For PXI, I read that we can select different multi-function data acquisition card for different sampling rate, which includes card with high sampling rate.
How about Compact Rio? From what I understand, the sampling rate depends on the sampling rate of module?
Please give some advice.
Thank you. ![]()

Can you explain a little more about what you're acquiring? How many channels? What you intend to do with the data?
A CompactRIO can handle 1MHz, but if you're acquireing from 16 channels and intending to process the data as well as stored it, then you'll probably want a more powerful PXI.

Hi Thoric,
I'm planning to acquire the vibration and acoustic emission signals, 4 channels, I intended to acquire and store the data over a period of time.
Is the 1 MHz simultaneous sampling? What is the max data storage for Compact RIO and PXI?
Btw, what is the main difference between Compact RIO and PXI?
Thanks for helping.
