Unfortunately what I really want is the single-set, universal-ignore option that you mentioned would require architectural changes.  Ah, well, can't have everything I suppose.  I still like and will continue to use the Analyzer.

When you find some time, post your idea about universal VI Analyzer configuration options to the LabVIEW Idea Exchange.  Who knows, you might get lots of votes and I might get time to try to implement it.  😉
