Why am I unable to close a remote panel?

I have a vi running on a server that has the web server enabled (v7.0). I can connect to it from a client running Labview 7.0 by selecting Operate->Connect to Remote Panel... I can view the vi just fine. I can request and give up control of the vi just fine, but I am unable to close the remote panel from the client. I can click in the lower left and select "Close Panel", but the panel doesn't close. I can go to the server and disconnect the client, but I cannot disconnect from the client end. Is there some setting in the VI Properties that can cause this effect?

Hi Rich,

You can close the remote front panel window on the client machine and it will disconnect you from the server.

No, that is not possible in my case. Since the vi has "Allow user to close window" unchecked in the VI Properties, the red X in the upper right corner is disabled on both server and client windows. I can see no way to close the client window except to end the process using Windows Task Manager. That seems very drastic, and could cause problems with the server. Someone did that once without releasing control, and the server vi hung up. Selecting "Close Panel" from the menu in the lower left seems like the right thing to do, but it doesn't work if "Allow user to close window" is unchecked.
