Why can't visaconf see serial ports at ASRL11 & ASRL12?

After installing and configuring a NI 8-port RS-232 board using LabVIEW's visaconf utility (Linux), only ports 1 through 6 (ASRL5::INSTR thru ASRL10::INSTR) were ENABLED and READY. Ports 7 & 8 (ASRL11::INSTR & ASRL12::INSTR) were ENABLED and UNCERTAIN. Both 'visaconf' and LabVIEW do not recognize the two ports that are "UNCERTAIN." I know ASRL10 - ASRL13 are traditionally mapped to parallel ports, however, ASRL10 works fine. How can I get LabVIEW to recognize ports ASRL11 & ASRL12?

Hi Mac,
I think the problem stems from the default setup of the visaconf.ini
file.
Have a look at the following URL.

Hope this helps

Thank you Sacha,

I have a customer that has reported a very similar problem to me. I was just waiting for hime to set up a time when I could come out to investigate what was happening.

It is wonderful to get an answer when you ask.

It is a miracle when you get it before you ask.

May the "Big Guy" smile on you,

Sacha - Thanks for response. I looked at your referenced URL last week. The visaconf utility updates this file when you save the configuration you enter in visaconf. As you can see in the attached visaconf.ini file, all seems correct for the configuration I desire. I will keep plugging away.
