Why does DataSocket affect sampling rate of my Polhemus devices?

Hello,
I hope someone can help me out with this.

I have one computer with a LabView program that acquires signals from two devices (a force transducer and a polhemus with 2 receivers).
Computer #2 uses another LabView program to acquire signals from different two devices (an EMG device and another polhemus with 1 receiver).
The two polhemus devices are synched through a daisy chain setup.

Computer #1 controls the start of both LabView programs using a DataSocket connection.

Everything is working perfectly except for one thing:  the sampling rate of the polhemus hooked up to Computer #1 is wrong; since there are 2 receivers, the sampling rate for each should be 60 for a total of 120 samples/sec.  However, I am getting a sampling rate of 40 samples/sec for each receiver, even though there isn't a 3rd receiver on that device.

Does anyone know whether the DataSocket connection is tricking that polhemus into adding the other device's receiver into its sampling rate?  How can I work around that problem?

Any ideas or tips will  be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi There,

I am not too familiar with your Polhemus device, but still dont think data socket would be the cause of this. If you are using the instrument driver vis provided by the hardware manufacturer, please refer to its documentation for details on how configuration information is transfered to the actual device. Here is a tutorial that may help shed more light on DataSocket technology: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/9574a2833ab0f8b086256cb4006a1ef7

Have a great day!
