Why does my Windows NT Machine running LABVIEW 6.0 constantly crash (dreaded BLUE SCREEN)?

Myself and several colleagues have encountered some problems using windows NT with labview 6.0 , gpib pci board and 488.2 version 1.60 software. The computer seems to randomly crash and the "blue screen" on NT always appears, with this line included: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ** -gpibclsd.sys .

Anyone else encounter anything with the system file "gpibclsd.sys" that has made your computer system crash? I am running a simple program with an HP 437B Power meter which is reading the power every 5 seconds. No other instruments are connected on the bus.

Hi,

Download the 6.0.2 update from NI website. This may solve your problem. There are a number of crash related problems that this update fixes.

Ray.

I have similar problem. Is there another way to solve this problem if it doesn´t help to update the software?

Kevin,

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem, but disconnecting from our network seems to remedy it. We would like to leave the network connected though!

Hi all,

I am having a similar problem. I get the "blue screen of death", with the problem listed with the driver afd.sys. This has something to do with network access, disconnecting from the network stopped the fault. Did you manage to solve the problem while remaining connected to the network?

Cheers
Ian
