Why does ni4882273 install to x86 directory on 64 bit OS?

Solved!

Hello:

I installed  ni4882273 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS but, the files are installed at

  C:\Program Files(x86)\National Instruments\NI-488.2\

instead of the expected location

  C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-488.2\

A binddump of the files under NI-488.2\ revealsthat they are 32-bit

Why are these the 32 bit files?

Did I use the wrong installer?

Is there a 64 bit version of NI PCI-GPIB?

Thank you

NI 488.2 is not a true 64 bit driver, although it is supported on 64 bit systems, the underlyeing driver components are still 32 bit. This is why the driver installs the the (x86) folder.
