Why is LabVIEW Hanging When I Try to Save My VI?

I want to know if anyone of you, reading this question has this issue.

Any time I try to save a Vi, even the smallest in size, LabVIEW freezes that I have to use Task manager to kill the task. It is only after trying to save.  It is related to LabVIEW since I can save from other problems. It happens with LabVIEW 2013, 2016, 2017.... it used to work fine... I already uninstall the 2013 and reinstall  it  and is the same. I already uninstalled totally Norton and Run it and it is the same

Hello Willey,

-Is LabVIEW hanging when you save a particular VI or any VI, if it happens for that particular VI, Can you please upload the same?

-What error dialog does windows pop up if LabVIEW crashes?

-Is your VI broken while trying to save?

Thanks

Rahul

Are the files on a network disk? In that case, does the same happen if all VIs in the project is on a local disk?

What happens if you wait a minute or two? Is LabVIEW still frozen?

Antivirus issue?

Are you opening the files from a project? In that case, will the same happen if you open it and save it from outside a project (main instance)?

If you open only one or a few VIs, will it happen?

Just guessing here, since I never (LV5-LV19) had an issue like this.

Is the disk full?

Are you at your quota?

Is the path valid?

Are you selecting Save, Save As, Save All or just closing the object?

Does an untitled VI prompt for a name?

Can you save a single, blank VI that is not in a project?

Can you save an empty project?

Try opening any example VI or project, make a small change to the front panel and try  to save the example back to the original location.  If that works, then try to save the example to a new location.
