Why no variant functions in pallette?
So, looking in vi.lib/utility you can find a smaller treasure of Variant functions that solves several hair ripping problems, as GetVariantInfo.
Why aren't these function in the pallettes and why cant they be found by quick drop, even when it's dropped on a diagram?

The phrase "Palette Committee" has been used a few times around here, that should explain why. 
As to Quick Drop, well, I find that a bit old fashioned so I have crafted my own personal coding assistant. And of course it pulls in a much broader range of drop targets.
I can drop anything from the palettes, the current project, and any other folder of VIs I choose to add (such as vi.lib). Great way to find some buried treasure, and some things which should probably remain buried.
