Why the date of the EXE does'n change when I recompile the application?

I made a modification ina an application for a customer and created a new EXE, but its date always shows as July 24, 2000.
The application was originally shipped to the client in february of 2001.

If I look at the properties of the exe, I read:
Date of creation: June 4, 2002
Date of last modification: July 24, 2000
Date of last access: June 12, 2002
So seems that Explorer shows (correctly) the date of last modification, but why LV sets it (incorrectly) to 2000?
