So, let's take a step back here. What is your goal? What are you trying to do with the instruments? I know you want to connect these instruments, but why? Are you trying to collect some data? In what way? Do you need to sweep the generator and take power meter readings? Where is this data going? It's possible that LabVIEW may not be the best/easiest solution for you.
The first thing you should do is forget the software and the computer and connect the instruments to your load and make sure they are working properly. Understand how the instruments work first. If you don't know how the instruments work, then the software will be 100X harder. So, make sure you can do what you need to do manually first. Then, we can take the next steps one at a time.
