Will an application will automatically close?

Application will not automatically close with the close afterwards if orginally closed check box checked?

Joe,

I believe the setting you are talking about relates to the front panel and not actual application. If you are wondering how to get a LabVIEW executable to close when it is done, use the Quit LabVIEW VI that is located in the Applications Control Pallette.

If you place that as the last step of your VI the application will close.

... but be carefull: This will give strange effects in RT (and we are in the RT zone here :-).

RT is definitely not intended to have programs really closed (i.e. "and unloaded from memory"), but a (top level) vi might exit and remains loaded in memory. Closing it with the Quit LabVIEW vi will really give strange effects (and you will reboot your RT system afterwards).
