OK, I tried it with it with a random numbers. Now I find the carriage
returns in random locations. This is to be expected. Again, the only
thing I am seeing is the 0Dh, that's part of the SGL number. Sorry,

haven't simulated your problem.
Have you tried what I am doing with the string search after geting the
characters from the file? Verify that your carriage returns are really
every 512 bytes apart (witin labview). It should be random since you're
using random data. If it's not randomly spaced then something must be
wrong with your data source. Sorry I can't help further. Good luck.
