XY Chart Filled Zoom Frame

Does anyone know of a way to fill the Zoom frame on an XY graph with a opaque color during the zoom selection process then have the filled area dissapear.

I was trying to use the chart envelope example in an attempt to draw on the mid layer of the chart but I have not been succesful yet...

I would combine the "plot images:front" property with something similar to

And wire a TRUE to the "fill" terminal for the rectangle.

("Plot images" allows you to draw on graphs using image commands (I think starting with LV 8). Simply create a property node for your graph and select e.g. property "plot images: front". Right-click to get help on that property. The help links to three examples that should get you started. See how far you get.)
