Yaskawa Labview Control

Hello, I am very new this but i need some assistance.

I have a yaskawa servo and yaskawa sgd7s servopack. I need to be able to control the servo with labview and i am having trouble getting labview to recognize the device. I cannot find any drivers online that will allow me to use usb control and I do not want to purchase a crio ethercat master.

If it helps, I do have a crio-9056 module that could be used for something.

Does anyone know how I can make this work?

Thank you

Hi em,

which servopack do you want to use?

Yaskawa also offers "analog" devices, Modbus/TCP and OPC…

Hello, thanks for coming to my assistance.

This is the servopack with ethercat communications, model no. SGD7S-R90F0A0A

Then use EtherCAT for communication! When your hardware only supports EtherCAT then you need to use EtherCAT.

(Read the manual of your device if it allows for any other option. I guess it will not as Yaskawa explicitely offers other variants of this device for other I/O capabilities.)

Do you have an EtherCAT-capable device?

Currently the servopack is connected directly to my computer with an ethercat cable and labview will not recognize it.

I have also tried to connect the servopack to my crio 9056 with an ethercat cable and labview still won't recognize it.

EtherCAT and Ethernet are not the same, even though they might use the same plug…

Again: Do you have an EtherCAT-capable device?

I see the difference now. No, I do not have an ethercat device. Is there any way I can get the servo to work without purchasing an ethercat master?

Hi em,

I see two options:

  1. Buy an EtherCAT master.
  2. Buy another ServoPack supporting a communication scheme suitable to your requirements.
