Here is an example of what I think you are asking for (LV6.0). I used rectangular LEDs and changed them to controls for the up and down "arrows". You may be able to customize the appearance later. The increment and decrement subVIs allow any digit to be changed by any amount by changing the input value. You could really confuse the users with non-intuitive values. If you are using LV 6.1 or later the event structure could be used for this also.

You really need to start a new question instead of posting to an old and unrelated one. You should also provide some additional information such as the number and types of signals you want to monitor.
