aceess USB port through labVIEW

Hi

 

i am trying to access the USB ports of my computer through LabVIEW. 

How can i do it? i found the USB controls in VISA (attached pic) but couldnt make anything out of them.

O i am sorry. i attached a VI instead of pic.

here is the pic.

 

I understood why these VIs are used (shown in the pic). 

every USB device has its own set of instructions. So in order to send and receive the instructions , these VIs are used.

by the way, i found a very intersting tutorial for VISA and USB communication.

O great, the master shows himself up!!!

 

Intaris , i have read your first nugget and found it really impressive. will definitely go through the 2nd one. currently going through the tutorial provided by NI. once m finished with that , will move on to Nugget number 2

PS Regarding "shows himself up".  I guess you're one of our Indian colleagues?  The phrase to "show himself up" means to "make a fool of oneself".  I'm assuming you meant to say that "Intaris himself shows up".  That means that I appeared, or came by.  The position of one word can change so much int he meaning of a sentence.

 

Of course if you mean I made a fool of myself, that's OK too and I withdraw my correction....  :smileyvery-happy:

Mathan,

 

I had a quick look in the linked thread before.  Whilst I would be happy to be a member of the club, it would be a honorary membership only.  When I said "colleague" I meant in the LabVIEW sense.
