acquiring image from pixellink usb cameras

I am starting to use a pixellink usb camera but I got the  error: "IMAQ USB Init.vi Cannot connect to camera, it may be in use."
Somebody knows how may  I get a frame from camera?


I am using IMAQ-USB, Labview 7.1 and the camera is PL-782U of pixellink

Clayton,

The first thing to check of course is if it is being used by another applicaiton.  Many camera come with some interface software and if that is running, it locks out other software (your VI). Please check that there is no other software running on your system that would interface with this camera.  Hope that this helps (because it is soooo easy).

Also, make sure that you have the twain software for this camera correctly installed.  The latest can be downloaded from http://www.pixelink.com/support_downloads.asp?pID=85
