Hi  Mohammed,

Thanks for the post and I hope your well today.

I would recommend using NI License Manager. When you open this, and look at the left hand tree - the LabVIEw 8.5.1 will have a coloured square, green for activiated, red for expired license etc. If you then  right-click and select activate , it will start the wizard. You can then enter your serial number if you have one and it should take you through the steps. If this errors, you need to double check the serial number and the computer ID you entered.

If you could please also confirm you mean NI License manager and not Volume Licesnse Manager...

Kind Regards,
James.

When you do a Help>About LabVIEW, do you have the serial number listed in the popup?

Meshka,

Since the Programming and Activation of FIRST software is different from our traditional software, we ask that all FIRST questions be made on the First community at http://decibel.ni.com/content/community/first?view=discussions

As for your specific question, take a look at http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-2435 a lot of people seem to be having a hard time renaming the .txt to .lic extension.  If you have more problems, the FIRST forums should be able to help you out, as we have engineers trained on FIRST equipment who monitor those forums Smiley Happy

Hi Rob and Meshka,

Thanks Rob for the great post - I was no aware how licensing worked for the First stuff.

Meshka, I hope this helps to resolve your issue and I wish you luck with your project.
