Tell you the truth, I was comparing my responses to Cross's posts and realized just how far away from the mark I'd wandered.

Comparing to Tim is not the worst metric in the world.  Unless you mean in style of dress.

You should have seen me before my wife got a hold of my wardrobe...

Wow.  That is scary that people are comparing themselves to me.

Look, we all get frustrated at times.  I typically just ignore the thread if I'm making no progress with somebody.  And that really only happens when people just want the answer given to them instead of trying to work through what we have told them.

Don't feel too bad, did you see our beloved Knight's reply here?

Mike...

One of the better moments here. I heard Lucy tell Linus: "Get rid of that stupid blanket!"

I just pride myself on being a patient, understanding person with a certain gift for passing on information that I know.  Then I happened to look at a post where Cross's post and mine were written at about the same time and the stark contrast between the two made me realize how far off I had drifted from my center.  It shocked me a little, because the change must have been so slow that it was too subtle for me to catch.

I wanted to say, "That's not me," but it obviously was - at least the present "me."  So now, recalibrate, move forward.  Unfortunately, I cannot recall the bad product - one can erase a post but not the words - but I can be better going forward.
