LabVIEW 8.0 should be enough since LV 8.2 allows saving the LV 8.0 and LV 8.0 = LV 7.1 + 1. (strange how revision math works)

Reading other posts, I know I'm in for a migraine!  I need to save the whole library back to 7.1.  Is there a way to save the library from 8.2 back to 8, and then from 8 back to 7.1? If so, how much do I have to install of 8.0?  Do I need to go through the hassle of installing device drivers and all of that, or just the LabVIEW itself?

Hi Dan,

Try checking out this KnowledgeBase article about saving VIs in previous versions.

To save a VI (and its hierarchy) for a previous version of LabVIEW, complete the following steps:

  1. For the top-level VI in your hierarchy of VIs, select File » Save with Options to display the Save with Options dialog box.
  2. Select Save for Previous to save the VI hierarchy for the previous version.
  3. Click the Save button to display the Choose a Directory dialog box.
  4. Select the directory where you want to save the VI hierarchy.
  5. Click the Save button.
