better drawing toolkit/program for front panel?

Does anyone know of a toolkit or program to help draw your front panels?  Although the standard objects and kits work, they do not always allow me to make something as pleasing to the eye as I or my manager may wish.

What exactly do you have in mind?

You can use any graphics software to create images that you can inport into your buttons and backgrounds.
