Have you searched the forums for "binary decimal"?  You'll find hundreds of messages where this has already been asked before.  There could be a couple of different answers though depending on what your binary data is.

Is it a series of characters 0 and 1?  Is it an ASCII character that represents a byte of data?

Provide an example of what the data looks like when it comes and we should be able to find the right conversion for you.

This newsgroup isn't heavily used. Best to use forum.ni.com

It's not quite clear what you mean by binary data from a serial connection.
You'll have to clarify the details of the serial data.

Labview has a number of conversion utilities
Boolean array to number
byte array to string
and cast unit bases function.

See the palette: Conversion VIs and Functions

What newsgroup are you monitoring if you aren't looking at this from forums.ni.com?

Please stop wasting time with these kinds of comments.  All of these messages show up in the official NI forums.  PointOnePa, you've been told about this before in at least one other message thread
