build exe modem

Hi all,

I want to build an exe file (stand alone exe file).

My VI file has a communication to the serial port (modem). 

When I build this file, a part of the program that relates to the modem doesn't work.

Please help me...

How do you specify the port? Are you using Windows names (e. g. COM1) or VISA Resource names (e. g. ASRL1::INSTR)?

Is the exe running on the same machine or on another? You must be aware that the mapping from OS names to VISA names is located in the VISA alias file. You can set the VISA Alias names in MAX.

I use the exe file in another computer with the same OS. I use windows names (COM 3).

Windows names do not count.

Did you build an installer for your app? If you did, did you include the VISA run-time engine as an additional installer? This is a must unless you do a separate install of VISA or just the VISA run-time. You should also include MAX and export the hardware configuration from MAX.
