cRIO-9014 Non Volatile Memory Throughput

Hi Jim,

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue.  I ran the code all day yesterday and left it running until now.  There are no problems.  It is really strange that your loop seems to be failing at different places.  I am going to check in with Chris again this afternoon and see  if he was able to come up with anything.  I think swapping controllers might be a worthwhile troubleshooting step.  I will repost if Chris had any more luck than I did.

Thanks, Nick.  I'm now writing my logs to a USB memory key to see if that eliminates the issue.  I'm thinking that if the memory is starting to flake out, writing files to the USB device might solve the problem at least temporarily.

Nick,

For what it's worth, I successfully ran the application all of yesterday and overnight, caching to a USB drive instead of the onboard memory.  This is looking more and more like the solid state drive is failing slowly.  I'm going to keep it going and see if it crashes over the next few days.

I'll call Chris shortly and keep him in the loop, too.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the update.  I am sorry to hear that the SSD seems to be failing.  I updated Chris on the situation, but you will probably want to call him to RMA cRIO.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
