yes it was strange.
I have enclosed a screenshot of my project setup.
When I ran the cRIO-9030 all the code is run from inside the Project entry so I also did not consider that it was going out on the RIO server.
Just for interest, what is the typical delay from reading a remote ( but very close )
cRIO or FPGA. Is 1000us the norm, as was the case here ( system calling itself over RIO server ) or is it faster calling another device.
