calculation of trandsfer function

iam genetating some white noise signal using the analog output of pxi-6052e card and reading the generated signal using anlog input of the same pxi-6052e card and trying to calculate the trasfer function between thse two signals . iam not getting the unity value for the transfer funxction which is supposed to be. so please help me in this  regard

Hi Achyuth,

Theoretically the transfer function should be unity. But practically, for the system you have described, it will not be unity.

The signal that you are generating is passing through many system components like lead contacts, the multiplexer, the instrumentation amplifier etc. which introduce their own

anomalies into the signal. All these parameter affect your signal before it gets digitized.

Theoretically, you are right, it should be one. But this is not the case practically. What is the value of the transfer function that you are currently getting?

Is there any particular reason you are trying to do this?
