Just to clarify the case structure will actually have more of an effect then the large cluster. When you change something on the block diagram LabVIEW will have to look through every single case and see how the change will affect it. This is what is taking most of the time. This is not to say that the large cluster is not having an effect. It certainly is just to a lesser extent then the case structure.
