change front panel background

So you should just be able to go back into the pane properties window and be able to change it back. Are you saying that even after the selection it reverts to its previous format? Also have you tried changing the background of a blank VI and then setting it back to default to see if it is just your Vi or your software?

I think it is my software. I was able to do it before but now it doesn't let me. Do I have to get a new software to replace it?

Just try to reinstall/repair.

Exactly how is it not working?  Is the right click menu not coming up?  Is it missing Properties on it?  Do you get the background dialog?  Can you pick a background?  Does it not stick when you say OK?
