clarification on Real time vehicle (car) suspension test using labview

hello friends,

I am doing phd in automobile semi active suspension system.Here i need to investigate and measure all suspension parameter of full vehicle experimentally. . So far, the experimental cost is so high.that too will give approximate result.

In experimental method, we need to create road profile using actuators. Its cost too much. i dont want do this.

i would like to do full vehicle model.is it possible to real time suspension test using labview?let me tell you what i want.

I have to attach four sensor on four wheel to measure the road distrubance. Then i will attach four more sensor on car body.

This diffrence in two reading will give the perfromace of my suspension.Whenever i  ride my car, i can get that place road profile and corresponding car body deflection. Finally i can measure my car suspension performance.

is it possible to get the upward motion  of tire using sensor in labview? this is what i want exactly. In experimental method we are spending so much time and money to create road profile. but that is already avilable in envirment. So i just want to eliminate road profile. If we eliminate it we can easily measure the suspension performance.

The measured value recorded in vehicle itself using labview computer environment. So we can feel the performace better.

I seen one article which used labview for quater car model. but want to do it for full car model.

Hi,

I hope that I may understand what you mean, because I have done several tests on vehicles and I hope I can tell you something good for your topic.

First, what kind of upward motion you are interested in? Velocity, displacement or even acceleration? You may have many possibilities to perform an in-vehicle test using LabVIEW or CompactRIO or CompactDAQ, but they are all the software problems. If you know what parameter you are going to measure, you may just attach the sensors onto the suspension and run the test programm. 

Also you may collect the status of the car, for instance speed the RPM of the wheels and so on, through the CAN bus.

If you are doing you Phd on this topic, you may have to find some company to present you a better solution. Well, in another word that is a part of a Phd.

I want to measure both vertical displacement and acceleration of car body with respect to road profile.

I exactly want the vertical diplacemnt of car  with respect to road profile.

I think, i can measure road profile by measuring the vertical displacement  of tyre. (is it possible?).

similarly i can measure vertical displacement of car subjected to suspension system.

dffrence in this two displacemnt will help me to measure the performance of my dessigned damper.

also i want to measure pitch and roll motion of car.My main phd work is to how my designed MR damper affect

the roll and pitch motion of car.

finally i need to measure  three parameter.

pitch angle

roll angle

what kind of sensor and harware i need to do measure above parameter?
